Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, as well as a former teacher in the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy techniques as well as her distinctive hairstyles that are spiky and blond. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from the age of a child. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduation, chef Burrell spent a year in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culture and cuisine during her stay in Italy which has had an impact on her style of cooking. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. She frequently travels around the United States in her position as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion to others.
